the person who opened my car overnight to steal stuff did not do a thorough audit of all the trash, donation stuff and recycling in there. The could have taken 1) my long distance driving shoes. 2) this banana hammock we were donating back to goodwill
also, I do nearly always always lock my car. I must have left it unlocked when getting some things out, outside of the normal get out of car lock car muscle memory protocol. However, I find it a little annoying when people say "THEY BROKE INTO MY CAR!" that the car owner clearly left unlocked and the perp simply opened the door with the door handle. Nothing was "broken" to get inside. I think I may have had some change and a dollar or two taken out of a cup inside the cup thing.
@rivetgeek those proprietary head units can get pricey! like those oem six cd changers that change about three cds before they never change a cd again and trap all the cds currently inside
i worked on a song on sunday within the limitations of the .XM mod format, so one note column per channel, no resonant filters, no effects, no vst plugins or instruments, no eq or compression, and it felt so freeing to simply work with mono samples and loops I had sampled or generated, finding fun ways to sequence them and let the samples be expressed in different ways, constantly moving forward with new ideas. No noodling 🍜
@ravetracer_22 pick some samples and go for it 😎 there are also tons of modern trackers that can save the hassle of setting up dosbox or other emulation
I’m old enough to remember when smoking (and smoke) was everywhere, and the idea that smokers might ever be asked or made to stop was seen as absurd. Many kids (including me) got horrible bronchitis every single year and had other sorts of breathing problems all the time. Many parents (and other adults) died early.
@histoftech In the past I might have humored the smoking section at Denny's at 2am after a concert because one of our party smoked. Recently, I left an outdoor concert early and mildly panicked, because it was still a bit enclosed and there was no escape from the cigarette smoke, even with the giant fans that were supposed to help ventilate. It was their final tour, and I'm sad to have missed the end

a previous neighbor, one of the brightest shining happy persons i've known, who would invite me over to help bake pies and was a huge proponent of indie art and cinema, once told me about their weird crush on 😽inger and informed me of some interesting documentaries including him
The environmental issue I am most concerned about is the soon-to-come development of "macroplastics", unintentional industrial byproducts in the form of plastic beads on an order of magnitude roughly the size of the Earth
