And as a former resident of the UK, I clearly remember how Brexit was just a stupid joke made by a small party ... until it wasn't.
It's so frustrating to me to see the problems created by right-wing neoliberalism and then having people respond to that by moving further to the right. 😬
Opinions welcome: I've done 3 releases of fwupd in the last month. On the plus side bugfixes go out to users quickly, and new hardware gets supported faster.
On the negative side it increases the amount of work distro packagers are doing and also means there's less of a splash of new stuff with each point release.
We need to talk about the Clangers. The Clangers (copyright Coolabi Productions Ltd, Smallfilms Ltd and Peter Firmin, images used under review/satire...) live on "a small Moon"...and are tall enough that the Moon's curvature is comparable to their scale. This is the best pic I could find to illustrate this, the further Clanger seems to be pretty much ON the horizon from the camera's point of view.
So we can draw a circle to match that curvature...

can you imagine the utter chaos that would ensue if, for whatever reason, microsoft decided to completely discontinue development of windows? people who don't understand how computers work wouldn't know what to do, and companies which depend on windows only programs would cease to exist, it would truly be an apocalyptic scenario
perhaps ironically, as far as execution methods go, a gunshot to the temple, or beheading (be it guy in black mask with a saber or a guillotine) is the most humane one, as it just actually kills you instantly, even though they are seen as "barbaric"
but like, is it any more barbaric than electric chairs or gas chambers, which are still used in some US states
