There's finally a mobile data quick setting in Phosh (will be part of 0.40.0). Not everybody needs it so you can enable/disable it via Mobile Settings:

#phosh #gtk #LinuxMobile

Short video explaininig how to enable mobile data in Phosh (the video has subtitles)

phosh 0.39.0 is out 🚀📱:

Some highlights:

  • : folder support, night light quick setting
  • : wakeup-key handling (to prevent accidental unblank)
  • : New layout, lots of layout improvements
  • mobile-settings: Allow to manage custom quick settings, allow to toggle whether to ignore hw keyboards, many new translations

0.2.0 is out 🚀 . This version adds the udev rules and first hwdb entries to mark keys and buttons as not unblanking the screen on press (like volume rockers or menu/back capacitive buttons).

phoc 0.39.0 will make use of this. We moved things into a library rather than phoc itself so other compositors can make use of it too.

@arunmani recently added folder support to #phosh 🚀 . Here's a short demo:

Very, very happy that our proposal for adding #cellbroadcast support to #ModemManager and #Phosh was accepted by @NGIZero : https://nlnet.nl/project/SMS-CB 🗼 〰️ 📱

A new release of #feedbackd is out (https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/feedbackd/-/releases/v0.3.0).

Besides some cleanups the user visible change is that "blessed" apps can now override the global feedback level so e.g. your alarm clock can ring even when the phone is in quiet mode (https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/phosh/-/merge_requests/1398)

  • : Handle always-on-top and move to display corner
  • : Many layout improvements
  • p-o-s: Disable OSK when hw keyboard is available

…and more. Check out the full release notes at https://phosh.mobi/releases/rel-0.38.0/

#gmobile 0.1.0 is out. Besides adding support for a new device (Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite) it's also now a shared lib (as updating it in >5 projects became cumbersome):

phosh 0.37.1 is out 🚀📱:

This is a bug fix release to allow #phosh to run with gnome-session 46.

Heads up for distro maintainers:

gnome-session 46 dropped support for the --systemd option.
(https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-session/-/merge_requests/93)

So if you want to use #phosh with gnome-session >= 46 make sure to drop that option from /usr/bin/phosh-session. A point release fixing this is in preparation: https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/phosh/-/merge_requests/1387 . Until then the safest thing is to stick with gnome-session << 46.

phosh,
@phosh@fosstodon.org avatar

Phosh 0.37.1 contains a fix for this.

Note that gnome-session >= 46 doesn't support the --builtin option at all anymore.

  • Updated layouts
  • Improved Sound file and favorites selection
  • Hardware specific pages in Tour

@craftyguy

To enable (until mobile settings allows to enable quick settings plugins):

gsettings set sm.puri.phosh.plugins quick-settings "['caffeine-quick-setting']"

(changes to the setting get picked up at runtime thanks to @arunmani )

phosh, to linuxphones
@phosh@fosstodon.org avatar

With some preparatory work to allow plugins to use objects from #phosh core and @arunmani 's nice work on custom quick settings already merged the often asked for caffeine toggle is within reach:

#gtk #gnome #LinuxMobile

The caffeine toggle in Phosh's quick setting allows to prevent the session from going idle. The video demos this using "watch gnome-session-inhibit -l"

We got some additional options from spreadshirt to schedule special offers on #phosh merchandise.

So if you're interested in getting a hoodie or tshirt it might be worth to check the upcoming events at https://phosh.mobi/posts/phosh-fashion/#special-offers to save some money.

We keep updating the list if we can schedule new ones.

We've tagged version 0.0.5 of gmobile (a small library for glib based mobile Linux projects).

Among other changes it adds support for the 's notch and updates the 's information. This will help to handle UI element placement for these devices automatically.

Thanks @awai , @z3ntu and Jan Beich for the contributions.

See https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/gmobile/-/releases/v0.0.5 for details
