Chart shows impressions from Search Console data.

For best part of a year, Google did not like this site.

A year later it's recovering.

What did I change?

Absolutely. Nothing.

Literally, not one thing.

Was the content less "helpful" before? But is "helpful" now? When it's the same content...?

I feel like Mastodon is missing out and I'm not sure why.

Insta flutter their eyelashes with #Threads and, it seems, the world and his wife cannot scramble over there fast enough.

Despite history telling us this is jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

Meanwhile Mastodon is "too hard" or "too quiet" or "not cool" or whatever.

I REALLY want Mastodon to work... but I'm not sure how to help?

So many 'names' in #SEO have set-up accounts which now lie dormant. 😔

Already quite bored of the Google Analytics reminders, nudges, countdown timers, emails - all about setting up GA4.

Not least that GA4 is a hot mess, painful to use and inferior to UA in many ways.

But mostly because it just seems about $$$ (when isn't it?).

I've got clients set-up on GA4 fine - but their set-up is "incomplete" because...?

They didn't connect it to their (non-existent) Google Ads account. 😒

Ok, diagnostic help please.

Why might a site work fine in a new browser, incognito etc.

But in an 'old' Chrome browser all the images hang and don't load (but otherwise the site functions ok).

Scratching my head a bit here (and no, I can't share URLs I'm afraid!).
