Is there some tool that would allow me to "Describe" a database say with a config file (JSON, YML) and it create the scripts to both create or update an existing DB to match the latest scheme?
Thinking similar to say ruby on rails style ORM but to be a standalone tool for maintaining DBs used by various apps? I do need it to work with MS SQL Server
@UpWeardale@DaveMasonDotMe to clarify, we need to generate a SQL Script to give to clients for their DBAs to run. this isnt for something internal or cloud hosted.
right now we manually write SQL files to create or alter tables. but sometimes people forget to add entries in the alter table to add columns and just update the first create table details.
so im looking to specifically have a file that says "I want my talbe to look this way". track it in get, then generate SQL with some tool
