I should do the same to be fair... I tinkered for a bit but it felt redundant as it was just another copy of my blog. I feel like it's not the answer though. I want my stuff to be accessible for normal folks, presumably that means using http(s) - I guess that means it is accessible for the enshittification brigade as well though in that case.
It needs to be supported by a normal browser I reckon; which means http. If people have to install another browser... it just won't get traction in a big way. I am not sure of an actual solution to this hmm.

I use a fork of Mastodon client in Android and it seems upstream has brought in contemporary UI expertise from the industry to make things harder. (Haven't verified, so keep that bowl of salt handy)

Saving an image/video was one tap when media was open, now it's a click, a swipe and another click away.

Well what a night it was...
I didn't expect very much since Munich is quite far south, but what unfolded surpassed our wildest expectations!
It took me a while to edit these images, in total I took more than 2000, but that also means there are some timelapses waiting to be processed :)

And now a little while I ...

I have a 26er MTB with 1.5" (38c) slick tires, and a 700c city/hybrid with 1.25" (32c). I have the bars set up identically (same bar/seat/bottom bracket measurements, same bar width, saddle and position).

My normal commute on the MTB is 0:48 +/-2. I thought the 1.25" tires would be faster than 1.5, but I tried for a fast ride yesterday and... got exactly 0:48.

Is this typical? The 1.5" tires are definitely safer. If I can't shave, say, 5 minutes off my commute, I'm sticking with the 38c.

Interesting. I have a 2007 dirt jump hardtail I run 24x3.0 knobbys on... for downhill they are awesome for all the points raised, but I also just use them on the street because its my main bike I enjoy riding. I actually got the same tyre in 24x2.6 and hated them due to the knobs walking on hard surfaces, the 3.0 has larger knobs so stays steadier. Great article.

@pixelfed you should know better than to rely on a channel created by someone else on a platform controlled by someone else.

@matrix at least give a very reasonable and generous response here, but really you should be using your own platform.
Either self host matrix, or because it's a project; you should be using a forum (Discourse or whatever) so conversations are searchable and archivable.

Discord is a cop out, it is lazy and shows you don't care about your community; just what is easier for you and the members that happen to already use Discord. And no, that is not everyone.

No, his actions are lazy, as is blaming someone else for it when he clearly didn't have email set up correctly, and sent a single email only.

He doesn't have to have that many unfinished projects, that is his own choice.

And it's no more difficult to spin a new matrix channel than to do the same in Discord, that's a lot of horse shit and is just a "protest" statement which is a cheap shot. He should know better.

Really annoyed that our #Akkoma server sometimes just drops replies from mastodon.social users. I’m still not totally sure as to what’s causing it!

Some servers work just fine, others are super janky at the most random times.

Check your filters. If you have any set, it matches part words and removes posts with any of those in them, including usernames with them in. I tore my hair out for months trying to work out what I'd screwed up.

What it sounds like everyone actually wants, is SSO. Which I find absolutely stupid: Lose that one login and you lose all your accounts.

BTW Akkoma just shows 0 for each if you select the option.

I think it is a pointless and self-gratifying metric so personally do not care if it says zero, and anyone not following me because of such a metric... well then I do not want them following me then anyway. I do not even check it when following others.
