Finished my root system experiment. Made by starting with a full thread, splitting into 2, then again into 3. Decided to add a second grey layer under the white to give it some depth. Pretty happy with this. :)

@seblammers ha ha.. yeah. Cryptic. Because you want to scream something, but you really can't. I read today, that if you write your anger down and then shred/destroy the paper, it helps.. Rare that these experiments come out "just right", but I'm really happy with the stitching here. The material keeping me neat. Next, to add another colour and see if i can work around that inner circle... I realise I seem to be accidentally making an elaborate death star, but that wasn't the idea! 😅

@seblammers thanks.. yeah the vertical stitches are really boring, but then as you add the horizontal stitches, it's exciting to see the pattern emerge.

It's my birthday today (🥳) and I got a brilliant A4 press by @pookipresses. I love it. Did a very quick test print of these little particle polaroids and they are already 100% better than doing them by hand. Still need to master inking & pressure, but very promising!!

Good weekend of work. 6x9 set of d4 dice generated numbers translated into 54x3cm red triangles. The 216x1.5cm black triangles are the same d4 numbers set symmetrically over the red pattern.

This one took a bit of work, but really like the quilting feel of it. Took my earlier #Generative #linocut and added half size stippled black triangles. Rotation of the stippled triangles also set by the roll of a d4. #GenerativeDice #dataart #dataviz

@seblammers brilliant! Nice try. My triangles are much bigger. 3cm so that makes it easier. I've seen people buy bags of large flat pencil erasers and carve those. That might make a better mark.

Hooray! Finished my Christmas #sashiko sampler. Really enjoyed it, but still lots of refinement needed. I pulled my threads too tight so it has distorted a bit. Going to try some smaller #GenerativeDice #hitomezashi patterns next I think.

I think it's time to update my portfolio site after 5 years of neglect.. going to use #svelte / #sveltekit as a bit of a learning exercise. Any recommendations for a simple clean customisable "portfolio" starter template/repo? I'd also like to add an experiments/sketches section too. Thx!
