I’ve recently migrated from Music app to Doppler.

AirPlay reliability is better than Apple’s own app (go figure). It supports Flac, the UX is simpler and there’s no BS. So far so good.

Also, of course I had to make a CD replacement icon for it.

@JeroenSchaper I don’t… but it’s super easy to reproduce it. Just grab the iPhone 15 Pro wallpaper somewhere online and save it to Photos app. Then apply a tint to it.

Ps. You can’t use the one that comes with the OS, it doesn’t let you tint it.

Downloaded ID by Amo to understand what’s up with all the noise.

First thing they asked was for my age, and then a phone number. Nope. 🗑️

I find it incredible how easily people share such sensitive data with a third party/app that was just launched and you don’t even know what they will use it for. 🤷

I know I’m a fool and that’s how most of the market operates, but I’ll never understand people — especially people, not corporate accounts — announcing with overexcitement they raised a shit ton of million dollars.

If I get a loan to buy a house, I’m happy for the house (and will be even more when its paid off), not for the money I owe.

That kind of reverse message, shows me a lot of what’s behind the business itself.

Something I learnt today about Safari Profiles. You can assign URLs to specific profiles.

Meaning you can make any links you open (GitHub/Notion/Sketch) open in, say, a “Work” profile.

History, cookies, cache, etc will be separate from your “Personal” profile.

Yet, still thinking about a condition that allows me to also trigger some sort of “Cinema Mode”, that turns Apple TV on, launches Infuse, turn off the lights, and bring up the remote.

@rafa I have a Beam gen 2 + Sub Mini and it’s a great combo sound-wise. I just don’t love Sono’s overall experience with AirPlay and Dolby Atmos. I just can’t get it work reliably…

Now that it feels like the dust has settled more on the explosion of twitter replacement services, mastodon (read: Ivory) is by far the most enjoyable to use... I just wish the text-based-social-media userbase wasn't fragmented between three platforms as much.

If you miss posts from someone specific, chances are there are mirrors you can find here. They won’t see your replies, but at least you may not experience FOMO.

Well with the App Icon Book announcement today I realized I’ve never submitted any Mac app icons other than Sketch’s 🤦‍♂️

Honestly I kept pushing-for-later™ because I’d have to reach out to each dev I made an icon for (from 7~12 years ago).

Screen recording demo of a small internal tool / app that I’ve made to test the different macOS materials (blurs). It’s a window with the Sonoma wallpaper as the background, and in the middle there’s a rounded rectangle with a blue, there’s a toolbar in the corner where you can select different materials, chose a color, and switch between dark/light mode and you can preview it immediately. You can also drag and drop any image in the window to use that as the background.
