@TheSpaceshipper can't remember if I actually saw it, or just mis-remembering reading the Starlog article a lot. I think I did see part of it, but not all the way through. Will have to find out
@tvaziri one reason I don't really watch movie discussions on YT, just as bad at Twiiter movie discourse.
OTOH my mom was one of those that was confused afterwards, as she didn't know Cushing had already passed away. She thought it was him till I mentioned it
@tvaziri that's on brand Shatner which I don't mind much. But yeah, when it was announced, what was the VES thinking? At this point the awards seem to just be an excuse ti see which celebrities and famous people they can bring in
@virtualbri literally fot an email from my alma mater today and I wasn't exactly pleased. Still have to check the local news, but the wording wasn't very reassuring
I just wateched a clip from one of the prominent "despecialized" versions of a movie with star wars in it, and immediately noticed a "special edition" shot in it, so be careful out there folks
Now watching "Space is the Place" with Sun Ra. I miss when you used to be able to just stumble upon crazy movies like this on cable. I've never stopped to watch the whole thing though.
It's a miracle it's on Max right now. And even more surprised it got it recommended to me.
I guess the commonalty with "Aniara" is "scifi with a lot of people off the street as extras"
@virtualbri I became aware of this movie a the San Francisco MoMa of all places. There was a small scifi exhibit and in one screen they were showing clips of Space is the Place. Been fascinated by the imagery. Still haven’t watched it though. Hopefully soon
