Anyone know of a good way to test that a Python function raises an expected exception when there's no internet connection?

Realized my library that uses the excellent pooch from @leouieda et al throws an error when there's no internet connection

my coding & development skills have grown SO MUCH since i became a maintainer of stravalib. But what i've never experienced is meeting someone in real life who uses it! after my talk yesterday someone came up to me that had used stravalib to collect club information & create "challenge summaries" for an event for people in their work!

it was SO rewarding & unexpected to be thanked for working on the stravalib! i can't wait to share this with our maintainer team! #postcardsfrompycon #pyconus
