@kim and I counted the number of mosquito bites I have on my legs from the one evening we sat outside to talk with the neighbors. I have a total of 65 bites on my legs. 20 on my right leg and 45 on my left. I'm starting to worry that statistically I have some sort of mosquito spread infection just from the sheer number of bites I have. And people wonder why I fucking hate the summer. Also I don't like being hot. I need a place where it's overcast and slightly rainy at all times.

The preschooler was sick with a 24-hour stomach bug on Saturday, my wife was sick with it on Sunday (and is still recovering), the toddler was sick with it on Monday, and now I am pretty sure I am getting hit by it. 🙃

I'm not sure what's gotten into me but yesterday I applied for a job in the next category up at my current job, signed up for some classes to help me prepare for being considered for said role, and today I sent an email to our local high school athletica director who is looking for a Tennis Coach for the next season. All 3 things are not things I would have considered a week ago.

Yesterday My 6 year old child proclaimed his favorite song to be welcome to the black parade, by my chemical romance. We proceeded to listen to it for an entire 37 minute drive in the car and hearing his little voice belt out “We’ll carrryy on!! We’ll carry on..” might have been the most wonderful sound ever. I’m so glad my kid likes skateboarding and emo music 😍 he’s cooler than I can ever hope to be!
