TIL that @organicmaps has a (very WIP, but still) desktop app, and so now I can produce side-by-side comparisons. Voilà the query for "café" in #Toulon

Note also how the information is shown much more explicitly on the OrganicMaps view. The google map only becomes useful to #bike / #pedestrian once you zoom all the way in. Somehow their designers seem to be afraid of contrast or sth. 🤷

I just love how #OSM is so much better, thanks to all involved! 🫶

To me it looks like Google emphasizes the streets while @organicmaps emphasizes buildings.

To me the second approach is more friendly.

In my understanding this shows, Google Maps is build for people with cars through the eyes of car driving people. So simply not for me.

I just give google one point: the color pallette looks often better.

Fingerprinting-Testseiten suggerieren oft, dass man eindeutig erkennbar ist. Das ist allerdings nicht entscheidend, sondern ob man über Surf-Sessions hinweg wiedererkennbar/verfolgbar ist. Der Tor-Browser, Mull oder auch Brave schneiden hierbei gut ab. Am Ende gilt aber auch: Lasst euch nicht verrückt machen. 😉

Bzgl. Grafiksoftware widerspreche ich deiner Aussage.

#scribus (Druck-Layout-Software) hat gerade wieder richtig Schwung in der Entwicklung aufgenommen und kann so ziemlich alles was man für Print-Produkte braucht.

@krita und @GIMP können so ziemlich alles was an Grafik-Bearbeitung geht.

Und für Vektor-Grafiken finde ich @inkscape sehr gut nutzbar.

Ich Frage mich ernsthaft, welche Funktion da angeblich immer fehlen soll?

Würde mich zumindest nicht überraschen.
Es war schwer zu verstehen und auch ziemlich merkwürdig zu nutzen.
Soweit ich weiß gab es auch keine aufgeräumte Übersicht über einzelne / alle Projekte.
In meinem vorherigen Job haben wir stark auf Nextcloud gesetzt aber mir wäre kein Usecase eingefallen.

Installing and using audacity as flatpak and keeping it running.

For one project I wanted to use audacity as flatpak on multiple devices. When we wanted to use it, on every device did hide the curser on the timeline. And there was no Internet available to install the other way 🫣.
And now on Linux Mint Audacity doesn't even work properly without adjusting settings for the flatpak.

Nicht ganz. Wer sich mal einen Eindruck verschaffen will, in welchem Zustand Windows inzwischen ist: Seit Windows 11 werden Nutzer zu einem 365-Konto genötigt. Der Sinnlos-Browser Microsoft Edge lässt sich selbst mit Aufwand nicht mehr deinstallieren.

Da muss ich dir ganz klar widersprechen.
Ich nutze fast ausschließlich kreative Software unter Linux. In meiner Erfahrung habe ich gegen Win und MAC immer Vorteile. Z.B. automatische Updates, schnelleres Öffnen, Kompatibilität, machen was ich will usw.

mag ich auch nicht so, aber dafür gibt es ja z.B. .

ist das krassete Programm das ich kenne.
Gerade 3D-Design ist oft auch in Studios unter .

Ihr Lieben, am Mittwoch hab ich ein neues Video veröffentlicht, das (wenn man den Kommentaren glaubt) ganz gut geworden ist.
Animationsvideos zu produzieren ist zeitaufwändig und teuer. In jedem neuen Film stecken viel Liebe und Kreativität. Deshalb möchte ich, dass der fertige Clip von möglichst vielen Menschen gesehen wird!
