People suggesting that excess deaths indicate the COVID pandemic is over are cherry picking their data.

I couldn't get the right data out of CDC Wonder, but this chart from Our World is pretty good.

It is a plot of how much higher excess deaths from 2020 to 2024 are, as compared with the avg of 2015 to 2019.

Of course nobody wants to acknowledge that any deaths are COVID, therefore it is no surprise that studies like the following conclude many COVID deaths are not recorded as such.

I wonder what (some of) the other Supreme Court justices think, while not - you know - cashing out all their credibility while sitting on the court.

There must be some good discussions in those back rooms. You know questioning why Clarence Thomas gets to jet all over the world and not disclose anything and pocket tons of money while If the rest of them do their jobs honourably.

I’m helping my neice navigate her online math course.
Isn’t the point of numbering things to make it easier?
Unit 3 is Chapter 4, and Lesson 4 in Unit 3 is numbered 3.3? 🙄

The navigation drop-down for the lessons in Unit 3, which is Chapter 4. Because Lesson 1 is a “Learning Guide,” all of the Lesson numbers are off by one compared to their names, e.g. Lesson 4 in Unit 3 is numbered 3.3.

Yeah and even then when it goes wrong it's very difficult to fix.

I just learned that sometimes when everything goes wrong if I just copy all my styles into the file again I can sometimes re-trigger the numbered paragraphs to work properly.

And of course, making everything as absolutely incomprehensible as possible is par for the course.

When you're saving astyle, there are two options and one of them is to save in the current document and the other one simply means save in your master template.

The description for option number two is almost incomprehensible and took me months to figure out.

Word has been out for two decades. How have they not fixed this description.
