📍 Uptown Damansara.

A white polystyrene plate serving Char Kueh Teow (Fried Kueh Teow) with some prawn, lots of Taugeh, and some Kerang, and 2 small plastic plates of Cili Potong (small, chopped chillies with salty soy sauce).
Red plastic plate serving a bunch of Kerang Rebus (Boiled Cockles). It comes with two thin wooden picks to eat it with and a small red plate of dipping sauce which has ground nuts.
Brown hawker paper on a plate serving Yong Tow Foo which has lots of fried foods such as Fuzhu (Bean Curd Skin) and deep fried Fishcakes. It has some sweet and spicy sauce lathered on top of them with some sesame seeds.
A well-lit stall in a hawker centre filled with people lining up to make their order. Several people are busy serving food to the customers in queue. The sign of the shop says “Ah Keong” (the seller’s name) and the name of the dishes available, “Yong Tow Foo” and “Chee Cheong Fun”. The counter is filled with lots of fried or boiled foods of various kind.

Boxing and Nasi Kerabu. #MakanApaToday

A hot chicken weekend - Hot Bird and Ayam Geprek Asli 🐔🔥

Day 2 of : My Mak Long (eldest aunty)’s famous Asam Pedas.

What’s on my plate today for / and some of the Raya Eve prep.

A green plastic container filled with rice grains, and some homemade Ketupat “cases” woven using coconut tree leaves. These are placed on a plastic mat outdoors, where the rice grains are ready to be filled into the hollow cases before they’re cooked.
A huge metal pot/cauldron filled with hot, boiling water and some of the earlier Ketupat cases that have already been filled with the rice grains. They are left to cook outdoors for about ~10 hours.

Celebrated my Fiancé’s birthday (a little late) last night at a nearby Izakaya with lots and LOTS of Sake 🤤

Ayam Gulai & Ayam Kampung Cili Hijau.

📍 Ramen Seirock-ya. My partner’s fav Ramen shop.

The same bowl of Ramen from before, but with the eggs put on top of the Ramen, and the broth itself has been mixed evenly with the spicy chilli/sauce, making the broth now a thick, vibrant yellow in colour. A pair of chopsticks and a soup spoon are also inside the bowl.

A pretty rowdy Saturday (feat. Richeese Factory for lunch).

My first Thai Boat Noodle and Thosai (Dosa), and my usual Nasi Goreng Kampung.

is the perfect for the , honestly. The colours look amazing even on the LCD screen, the simple but super fun gameplay suited for handheld , and it runs buttery smooth even when limited to very low TDPs so you’ll likely get over 3 hours of gameplay. Can’t rave about this game enough.

It really is 😭 Do try Nasi Kerabu (the rice dish) with Ayam Bakar (grilled chicken) and/or Daging Bakar (grilled beef) if you ever make it here in Malaysia sometime! This shop’s is my favourite.
