🏠Have you ever moved house?

Tear down is kind of like that, except it’s not all going to one place, some is time dependent, the truck’s turned up too early, and now it’s started raining. Also everything is muddy, can only be transported with a particular combo of people and vehicles, or has a visiting member of the local wildlife. HQ has a pigeon.

If you have any positive vibes for the tear down crew, leave them here and we’ll make sure they’re passed on this evening when they get a chance to read them.

We rescued a number of creatures during the event, including a crow with a calcium deficiency who now has a tiny splint and is doing well at the wildlife rescue.

A pigeon has turned up to help the bar pack up in return.

Chemical toilet?

Please dispose of it at the two points on site.
Do not, we repeat, not empty them in the accessible loos or any other loo, for two reasons.

1. The accessible loo fills up and then people who need it can’t use it.
2. The poo truck charges us for a chemical load not a human waste load (super pricey).

It is late, and the opening is imminent, but please spare a thought for the volunteer teams who are working through the night to put things in place for us, and have been working with passion and enthusiasm through rain and mud and the foibles of deliveries.

Big up the build crew, and everyone behind the scenes, they are absolutely marvellous.

The loos are literally sparkling this year! These are the ones by the food vendors, and the ones by the ducks (D) are also sparkling.

There are also stand up urinals for a splash and dash.

There are ramps to the accessible facilities in the same place, and…

…. in case you missed them, we do also have some compost loos. With fancy paper.

Some have asked about why we say bring suncream and raincoats.

Even yesterday when it was about 16°C, the UV index was hovering around 6. Yes, the sun can still burn you through clouds if you’re going to be outside all day.

This varies by skin type, but
0-2 🟢 low risk for the average person
3-5 🟡 moderate risk
6-7 🟠 high risk
8-10 🔴 very high risk
11+ stay in the shade!

We’ll be adding UV predictions to our weather updates so you can make your own choices on sun protection.

Plus if you bring a sun hat it keeps the rain off.

Remember, we’re in a field! Every EMF, whether it is rain or shine, someone needs towing.

All the useful-in-a-pinch car stuff is in the bottom of the boot. You know, spare tyre, tools, towing eye.

In the unlikely event you have cause to use your towing eye, you might prefer to have it stored in the glove box and not under all your camping gear.

Last #emfcamp we reunited bank cards, wallets, and phones with their owners, mostly within the hour.

We also reunited 1 blåhaj, a 5.8GHz antenna, 3 walkie talkies, and a backpack “with a half finished project in” with their owners.

It is a day for making yourself a nice hot beverage and sitting down with a marker pen or label maker and making sure the kit you’re likely to misplace is labelled.
