one of the great things about pokemon collections is that you never really -own- something (in my mind)

you just keep it, hang onto it. hold it and cherish and take care of it til its time to give to the next person whose passion for that item/pokemon/etc is inspiring them to go on a quest searching it down. you're just keeping it, til the next younger and more enthusiastic pokemon trainer arrives.

So ALL usps workers (carriers, clerks, etc) in at least our district (ne mass) did not get paid this week. Confirmed it w higher ups, its something nationally snafu'd

the only thing biden did was appoint an oversight committee to watch him, and clearly theyre not doing ANYTHING...they let him dismantled 7k mail sorting machines during an election season and never restored a single one (and people wonder why mail's getting lost more often...)

so postal money orders have been authorized but only for 65% of the pay, i guess theyre hoping to sort the other 35% out in a subsequent paycheck...

the money orders are supposed to be available tomorrow (friday) and if they arent, then postal workers are Not going to work friday and saturday

also its a much, much more widespread issue than just rural north massachusetts

@JoscelynTransient not to derail u bc i love this thread and youre sooo on point but: ken is not relatable to me as a transmasc guy at all rly -but- barbie's journey absolutely is, even if its a journey of femme energy its a journey of self. Plus seeing tiny little Correct nods to trans rep (like dr barbie!! Or even the construction workers shrugging at the genital joke & going "thats ok!") but the masc energy in barbie is very very cis masc to me. I mean gosling has his shirt off 50% of the time lmao

@JoscelynTransient another interruption soso sorry loving your thread- the impossible to be a woman speech obviously hits different with that Particular note for me as a trans man but it was still just EXTREMELY trans experience relatable. I was told so many times i was doing my gender wrong in my life, coming out or trying to stay closeted. Its a speech imo to anyone who was in any way once a "little girl" and began to experience the almost buddha like revelation that the real world is much harder and yet more beautiful and that to cope with this revelation its important to hear it acknowledged from elders - any elders - in a way that resonates with truth.

@JoscelynTransient i love this thread and yes yes yes yes barbie is 100% a trans narrative

The reason i say kens feel very cis is because that extremely immature need for women specifically to look at them, the generally childish way kens exist and that he realizes the real world inherently rewards that childish behavior if its from him (but not enough! Hes frustrated he cant have it ALL for NOTHING) is the narrative of toxic cis masculinity. The idea of tromping around mumbling thinking is boring is the antithesis of trans experience - we all NEED to think to learn who we are, tho it may bring mixed painful emotions.

Perhaps allan can be read as transmasc tho! Hes invisibly common and yet a stand-alone in ken land, preferring a world not run by babys first patriarchy. He has strong deep empathy for the kens but not enough to agree with their self destruction.

But the main story of barbie herself is so deeply trans affirming no matter ur gender imo 💙
