Question for my Blender homies, I import a canoe, export it as a USD file, but when I try to use that on Apple platforms/RealityKit, it loads without any textures, even though it has them in the Finder preview. Why?

In a year we've gone from Midjourney and Dalle taking a few seconds to generate images on a server farm, to SDXL Turbo in ComfyUI doing realtime image generation as you type using a local model and a good GPU. The speed of the advances in image generation may just be as profound as text-based LLMs (…which, with Google’s Gemini Nano and friends, we're now seeing performed on-device on a smartphone).

5, 10 years down the road? All this stuff will be realtime, on the smallest devices. Wild

New dishwasher comes next week but not having it hasn’t been as bad as I thought. I simply immediately wash and dry whatever dishes I use so nothing piles up in the sink. One benefit is I never run out of clean dishes or flatware. And I never have to “empty the dishwasher”.

I’m always amazed to see someone still driving a Saab. I owned one and it was by far the most unreliable car I’ve ever owned. Boggles my mind thinking about what it takes to keep one on the road. Such a crappy car, I often miss mine.
