Never thought I’d say this but I’m on Elon’s side this time. If you’re seeking new information about the world and generally following the scientific method you’re doing science.
And you’d say that some brilliant student project isn’t. Publication is not the definition of science. Does the work have to be correct to be science? No. Most science is eventually shown to be incorrect in some way. It’s the search for answers that defines science not some journal that openly exploits the people who are searching.
Cortisol is actually a really important hormone and it can even make you feel good. The problem is when you have too much too often. It’s like putting your body and mind into sport mode. Very useful in the short term but unsustainable in the long term.
I don’t see any significant number of people doing this. That would be like demolishing a condemned building while you’re standing in it. Yeah it probably should come down, but there are still people inside.
Pitch for an episode. Find a rogue starship lost decades ago and the crew is just hundreds of copies of the old transporter chief who found himself the only survivor in a past disaster. Desperate, he did the only thing he could think of to crew the ship and satisfy his loneliness. After so many years of churning out copies of himself from the decaying version in his buffer, he now believes himself to be the ideal humanoid being.
You might see ape brain violence, but guess what the people in power are apes too. When all else fails, and I think we can agree it has, there’s only one option left. I’m sure you’re referring to the George Floyd protests. How long do we have to ask nicely for people to not get murdered by cops? How many different ways should we say it? Do you actually think it can ever work?
