Brown Thrasher at home. This is the first year I've seen these birds at feeders. Usually they are on the ground, thrashing violently in their search for insects.

I have heard several variations now of such a story. It is like, "we have suffered with this piano, you too with suffer with this piano!"

when piano manufacture's changes being what they are, you could sell it and make someone happy.

(I was a serious pianist once upon a time. My husband wanted to get me a grand piano. But I knew enough about grand pianos to know I would not have space for one.)

A medium-sized bird has a chunk of suet it has removed from the feeder, and it is manipulating it outside of the feeder. Unsure if it is stuffing in its throat to take back and cache, or eating, or what.

Happy Friday! White-throated sparrow at home. This one seemed to have a really vivid contrast between the black and white head stripes, or maybe it is the yellow on the head that caught my attention. Whatever the reason, I took many photos of this bird and here's one of them : )

Same bird, during a pause in its song. Its head is in profile with an expression, like, "what? I didn't say anything." this little critter is loud. We have been awakened by it.

@Cmastication I am finally at peace with having a squirrel feeder.

We somehow got a break from those rodents over the winter, and the hawks will move in and feast eventually. There's one tree in the neighborhood where one hawk dines and there's all these pieces of used-to-rodents scattered at the bottom.

I got to the lab today , colleague --- mounted the large robot arm for me and cleared the shop for my use. Whew a lot to remember since the last time I used this.

I got networking to work, and was like, "success for today, bail."

This needs its own post.
First off, I’d love to explore it, especially the very top. But what is up with the windows?? The center jumble on second floor to start, but even the far right windows on 1st, 2nd, 3rd floor all have different spacing. Middle decks are staggered, in fact the whole middle “shaft” seems like an add-on. The left/right 3rd story roofs don’t match, other than the slate.

⭐️8 stars, keep people guessing!

    Same birds, similar positions, but the female has shifted around a bit. The male is out of focus and blurry, just a bit of blue.

    I've done a lot in the garden yesterday and today and I am paying for it physically.

    I'm trying to space out the physical stuff by making plant labels for the first time, instead of trying to remember plant orders from years in the past.
