Oh, a wonderous bird is the pelican.
His beak can hold more than his belican.

Wherever you are, I hope you had a good Earth Day. It's a pretty great little planet we've got here, isn't it? I'm in favor of keeping it that way.

Gear: Nikon Z7 II, Nikon VR 70-200 f2.8G on a 2X teleconverter

A new addition to the print store today. This is a photo I took in 2020, not long after acquiring a Fujifilm X-T4, while walking through my then-neighborhood of Capitol Hill in Seattle.

Later that same year I submitted it as my entry to the Microsoft employee art exhibition, in the Photography category. It went on to win the People's Choice Award, against some very stiff competition!

Not technically Macro Monday content, since they weren't taken with a macro lens, but I'm always amazed at how close the Nikon 24-70mm for the Z mount can focus.

Taken during my walk this morning. Nice even cloud cover makes for well saturated photos, and the green moss on the gray stone really popped. Enjoy!

Color photo. Closeup of a patch of green moss on gray stone. Red tendrils or stalks project out from a mass of tiny green leaves. The moss continues down to the bottom of the frame, out of focus.

On Monday, we had a little rain here in Seattle. That may sound redundant: Seattle's rainy, right? But we've been having a pretty dry summer so far, and the little bit that fell on Monday was very welcome.

The sky on Sunday was prelude, telling us the rain was coming. Which made for interesting photos while I was out and about with some friends.

Black and white photo. A small portion of a brick building is seen on the very left, a dark fire escape projecting from it. In a dark sky, lines of wispy cloud march across the frame.
Black and white photo. A corner where two brick buildings meet. On the left is a window. On the right are the letters TAR in light paint. Above, in the angle formed by the meeting of the two buildings, is a dark sky with wispy white clouds.
