I'm an Australian woman, based in Meanjin / Brisbane, but in love with Argentina. In a previous life, I was a Trans activist, runner, and RollerDerby player. Now that we are all "post" covid, I feel like I'm still somehow finding my feet, and working out what I want to keep from my old life, and what I want to add to it! I have the feeling I will never get a final answer :)

I hate when people post political stuff on Fedi, because it makes me mentally unstable. I wish Sharkey had an option to hide posts from view and in the process mute the authors, and that tagging doomposts was mandatory. For my own mental health I deliberately live under a rock, and I hate that people are mass-sharing bad news on Fedi. It didn't used to be that way in 2022. God, what is wrong with people who don't tag political or other doomposts. It takes a fucking day to wash that shit out of my mind. Not only spoiler it, but hashtag it so I can block the entire tag. Otherwise I may potentially start mass-blocking users who post or boost such posts, and I really do not want to have to do that. I don't need to see that shit.

@stgiga For what it's worth, word mutes on Sharkey don't have to be hashtags. You can mute any post that contains certain words and terms.

I think I am genuinely starting to prefer darktable to Lightroom! That is not something I saw coming when I first started to play around with it, but as I become more proficient with the masking tools and what they are capable of in darktable, I am continually impressed with just how powerful they are (albeit, not as intuitive to use as Lightrooms AI guided masks)

I have a question for photographers out there. I am currently considering a new Camera and can't decide between a Canon EOS R7 (ASP-C) or Canon EOS R8 (Full Frame). They are a similar price and I am paralysed by analysis. I would like to hear from people who have used either.

@BOPBadger I haven't used either of those specific cameras, but in general, I prefer asp-c or four thirds over full frame, because for me, the compact size and increased effective focal length of the smaller sensors is more relevant to me than the raw megapixel count and reduced noise advantage of full frame sensors.

Which is actually really bad. Pretty sure levels are low, no idea what to do can't get a doc here and I don't think I can afford to go back to Sydney hell I can't even cover the cost of the implants.

@jo @JigglyWyvern @supakaity For what it's worth, @internutter was able to get in to see a GP at Holdsworth house recently, who does gender care. I'm not sure if they do implants though?

@supakaity and I both see a doctor at Gladstone Rd medical who does implants (that's what we both use) but I think you might run in to issues there with availability. Getting them to take Kaity on as a new patient was a challenge.

Also, as Jo suggested, get a mutual aid link of some kind up, and we'll be happy to help out!

Just admiring these bathing beauties taking advantage of this afternoon's reprieve from the relentless rain. As soon as the rain cleared they emerged from the shadowy woods, the sunlight reflecting off their white feathers adding a sort of majesty to their appearance, like Aphrodite stepping off the scallop shell in the sea foam (if Aphrodite were a noisy clownish parrot with the grace and elegance of a toddler in a feather suit).

It's been a really good couple of weeks fitness wise. I set my fastest 5k in years, my fastest 1k in years, and my fastest 5k on the bike in years!

I can feel my strength and endurance coming back, and it feels great!

@sky I want to love neochat and fractal, but I can't handle neochats lack of notifications for spaces (only rooms) and I can't handle fractals lack of spaces! I'm in too many rooms to lump them all together.

I'd jump on either of them if I could navigate my number of spaces and channels more effectively!
