@heiglandreas Lösung ist einfach, sagt Merz. Bürgergeld weg, Ausländer raus, Nichtbinäre und Schwule ins Gefängnis. Löst den Mangel, weil dann der letzte Intelligente das Land verlässt, und die Verbliebenen das Haus nicht mehr verlassen weil sie vor dem Genderstern Angst haben.

Deutschland ist total kaputt gespart. Der Hinflug wegen Schnee - ok, verstehe ich. Aber das ganze Chaos seitdem ich in München gelandet bin - Wahnsinn. Nach 7 Tagen sind die Radwege immer noch unpassierbar, die Gehwege Eisplatten, die Krankenhäuser überfordert mit den ganzen Verletzungen deswegen, am Flughafen eine Stunde Wartezeit vor der Security wegen Personalmangel (Liegt am Grund des Mittelmeeres/hat Arbeitsverbot). Handynetz immer noch katastrophal, Züge sowieso. Gendern ist das Problem!

I never used any of the modern AI tools for writing code, copilot etc. I'm old. Traditional. Using emacs. And I write my code manually - like a cave man.

The announcement makes sense when you realize that this positions Microsoft even further to monetize the act of itself.

When you handicap and make them so dependent on LLMs to write code, that (eventually) they no longer know how to do so without it, then suddenly the days of working in a free editor are over.

I get your point, but I have no idea how to hunt and forage, how to find my way without GPS, and although it can be seen as losing abilities, it is also learning new abilities.

In the end, is it not a little bit complaining about "the youth of today!"?

But, to be honest, I have similar thoughts and fears about how this will change society.

Most folks don’t seem to realize how gravely under-resourced and under-funded the #PHP project is.

For a technology that powers 77% of the web and has very little corporate backing, it's a wonder the project makes any headway at all.

At times, it almost feels like the industry is doing this on purpose to choke out the language.

So I just spent 5h trying to clean up the Spanish documentation of PHP as it was doing some... weird stuff. And now the build fails.

Unsurprisingly considering the 5k outdated files, but if people want to help that would be nice. :)

Did you know you could control brightness of the red dot on the i of the "ThinkPad" on the top-side of your thinkpad? I sure didn't:

this turns it off:

echo 0 | sudo tee /sys/class/leds/tpacpi::lid_logo_dot/brightness

and this turns it on:

echo 255 | sudo tee /sys/class/leds/tpacpi::lid_logo_dot/brightness

I don't really know what this information is good for, but hey, isn't it awesome to have a 1px display on the outside of your laptop?

@trimethylpentan Und versteh mich nicht falsch, ich bin Bahn-Fan. Ich genieße es, jetzt in Spanien zu leben, wo Fernverkehr schnell, zuverlässig und günstig ist. Ich würde mir sehr wünschen, dass Wissing das nicht wie die CSU-Vorgänger weiter kaputtwirtschaftet damit BMW mehr Autos verkauft und Lufthansa mehr Inlandsflüge anbieten kann
