@RickiTarr Seattle or Sapporo would be my ideal. Big metropolitan city that isn’t too massive, and you can still clearly see and access the nature surrounding it.
Doesn’t really matter though when you can’t afford to live anywhere nice.
Good morning. I had a dream that Taylor Swift ran for president—and won. The entire American right-wing spontaneously combusted from coast to coast. We roasted marshmallows. It was a beautiful dream.
@shoq I had a dream where Taylor Swift had a Rowling/Musk/Kanye style heel turn. Tends to happen to celebrities who have amassed a ton of wealth and start to wain in relevance. I don’t expect her to be any different.
"ADHD creates impulse control issues and, consequently, advertising takes advantage of a disability. Ergo, ad blockers are assistive devices and interfering with their operation for commercial gain constitutes a willful violation of the ADA."
@tek This is no joke. I need ad blockers not only for impulse control but because I get overstimulated when I’m bombarded with ads. My use of them is a matter of care.
I mean think about it. Of course hard core catholic #Biden doesn’t want to protect the rights of women and queer people, THAT WAS HIS POSITION BEFORE! Many people seem to forget the reason he was chosen as Obama’s running mate was to appeal to conservatives. And you what, conservatives have gotten more of significance under him than even under #Trump.
At this point, All we’re doing this November is choosing the boots we want on our neck: Steel toed or Spiked?
I think what I resent the most about the technology we’re calling “#ai “ is that I used to be fascinated with the potential of creating actual artificial intelligence.
I grew up with #megaman , #astroboy , #startrek , and the idea that we could create artificial beings with their own sentience and hopes and creativity was inspiring. I still hope for that someday.
As it is now though, the fact we now associate the term with content scraping and mimicry is simply discouraging.
I can barely finish this thread because I am just completely devoid of hope right now, and I know what I say will move no one, change nothing, and only make people angry at me.
All I ever wanted was to live a happy life making art and teaching others. Having peace of mind that no matter who my sister decided to love, she would be respected as a human being.
I accept my fate as a queer working class person in this country. Nobody is going to save us.
You know what, fuck it. I’m done standing behind #Biden. For the last 4 years, I’ve been held hostage by the fear of if the #gop were to take power again, Women would lose their autonomy, #queer people would lose their rights, #Israel would be enabled in their genocide, and asylum seekers would be expelled from our country, AND IT’S ALL COME TO PASS ANYWAY!
And you know what, I think Biden and much of the Democratic Party wanted this too!
While many reputable companies have pulled out of Russia long ago, American language learning company Duolingo has continued its business in Russia, reveals TASS.
In April, the company was told to censor its app, so Russians can no longer see ANY reference to the existence of #LGBT persons, and instead of ending its business in Russia, the company chose to help the dystopian regime and comply, writes Latvian-based newsmedia Meduza.
You too can buy a Tesla, and support the main share holder Elon Musk, who abuses his social media platform to convince his 185 million followers, that the US justice system is corrupt, because his favorite criminal is brought to justice.
#pridemonth is an interesting time in the American South. While ya’ll are enjoying your deluge of rainbow themed merchandise from companies who don’t really give a damn about the #queer community, here it’s a scavenger hunt to see which companies have the guts to show any support for the #lgbtq people.
The place I work has our break room all decked out for pride, yet we don’t dare stock or put out any of the pride themed goods our northern counterparts do.
Our local #target never kept their #pride stuff visible, even before it became official policy to hide it. There are no book displays for queer books or authors at my #barnesandnoble , and many of the rainbow logos you see on various goods at Walmart during this month are not present here.
The presence of pride in this part of the states is even scarcer this year. The areas where we need the most signs of support are the places most corporations are too chicken shit to do so.

Being told the #economy is great while everyone around me is struggling to keep a roof over their heads or fucking eat is probably the biggest gaslight I have ever witnessed.
Beware of politicians who blame vulnerable groups for your problems - they’re the ones not talking about making your life better but about making someone else’s life worse.
Their target may be refugees or a religious group or an ethnic group or trans folks. But whoever the vulnerable minority is, the message is basically the same: you’re supposed to believe that denying these people their rights will somehow help you and your family. It won’t, of course. Don’t buy it.
