How would you feel if a woman you know, perhaps vulnerable, was forced into being treated in an all-male ward at a hospital. How would that woman feel?
@Mrfunkedude that's good to hear. Linux has been my primary OS since 2002. I don't have issues, but it's difficult to be sure how much of that is because I've been using it for so long.
I occasionally see articles and toots about #authors being arseholes and generally behaving badly.
So, as an antidote to that, I'd like to tell you a story about @clacksee being an excellent human being.
A while ago, she sent a message to her mailing list offering a large discount off any of her books when bought direct. I decided to use it to buy a couple of her books to use as prizes at the tombola that #Mermaids will be running at our local #Pride in June.
I emailed her and asked if she could sign them. She replied to say yes, but there was no need to pay - she'd donate them, and she asked which books I wanted. I was grateful that she was going to donate them, so I told her the two books I'd planned to buy.
The package arrived today. It has the two books I asked for, but it also had three other books, and a tote bag. Every book is signed, with a note saying "Protect trans kids".
Oh wow! @streetcomplete got funding from @PrototypeFund to port it to iOS! We're onnnnn! Congratulations Tobias and everyone who's eager to start doing quests on iPhones!
@GuerillaGrue the gamification on Duolingo pissed me off so much it I stopped learning German out of spite.
I'd still like to learn German, but I have a mental block against it because of that bloody owl.
At least some of it was due to their particular implementation rubbing up against my autism in a really unhelpful way. It's possible that gamification could have been done in a way that I didn't actively hate.
After some issues, I installed an #ebook reader on the Palm m105 I bought recently. This evening, I used it to read Past Imperfect by @clacksee while waiting for eldest to finish at Scouts.
@RPBook bought themself a Palm Pilot. We're both remembering how good the Graffiti input was. I've even installed a Graffiti keyboard on my phone. This Toot was typed with it. I think I may even prefer it to the tapping tiny letters type of keyboard. I do think maybe I need to get a stylus.
What can I use to make a simple #map from a list of coordinates?
I have a #Minecraft world that I've been working on for a while. I've built a network of secured routes between nether portals and I'd like to make a sort of tube map of them. I've done it on paper previously, but I don't want to redraw the whole thing every time it outgrows the page.
It doesn't need to be fancy or pretty. I just want to stick the place names and coordinates in and get a plot / chart / map out for reference.
