Second arm finished...I'm calling it 'heart on my sleeve' as I've managed to incorporate an anatomical heart and a swirly one. There's a brain at the top...
@thepoliticalcat Thank you! You will find kinder people here - I have. I only learned to crochet on a holiday to Skye in October 2022 - with all that lovely wool, it would have been rude not to. I find freeform suits my mind - I don't do well with patterns. There's no right or wrong! Sure, there are basic rules but once you've got them, it's painting with yarn!
@LJ@crochet hi, you probably need to add the odd extra stitch to keep it flat. Too many stitches and it goes the other way, ruffling. I do freeform, where you can do what you like - if you're using a pattern, adding stitches will affect the outcome.

May you never be the reason why someone who loves to sing, doesn't anymore. Or why someone who dressed so differently now wears standard clothing. Or why someone who always spoke of their dreams so wildly is now silent about them. May you never be the reason of someone giving up on a part of them because you were demotivating, non appreciative or even worse, sarcastic about it.
@herbincowgirl A teacher told me in the school choir I was tone-deaf and dismissed me in front of everyone. I was 7. Turns out it was the kid next to me and I didn't sing in front of anyone for decades. In fact, I'm now 56 and still don't, apart from babies and cats.
Hey @gardening#Gardening does anybody want to talk about how and when they reuse container soil?
I grew some great early tomatoes in big planters. The plants finished and I snipped them off at the root, but the planters are rock solid with root balls. I can dolly them somewhere and tip them out. Should I use the giant root balls as the base of a compost pile, or would they be better off just decomposing in the meadow?
And I’ve got a main season tomato just ripening fruit in a very rotted wine barrel. The magic of plants has slurped about a third of the soil matter away, so it’s like 2/3 full of roots now. When the tomato dies, could I top off the planter with 3” of fresh soil and plant something with shallow roots next year? There’s no way the soil is coming out of that thing without it completely falling apart, which may be what happens, but if it’s still usable… gardeners are very silly, aren’t we?
😷💉“New #COVID vaccine is due out next month, but health experts & analysts say it is likely to be coolly received even as hospitalizations from "Eris", a variant of the Omicron, rise.”
@GottaLaff Get your jabs if you can - I have #covid now and it's awful. The UK government has decided only over-65s and high-risk groups can have a booster. Last year, it was over 50s.
