MacOS scroll settings are not separated between touchpad settings and mouse wheel settings.

This leads to idiotic behavior for either the mouse or the touchpad, since the so called natural setting for the touchpad is not natural for the mouse, and vise versa,.

I regret getting the MBP M1. Once there is a proper ARM Windows laptop, I will get rid of the PoS OS that Apple is forcing you to use.

And what is with the special Apple keyboards? Another tool for locking you into their walled garden.

RIP Louis Gossett Jr.

Unforgettable Drac in Enemy (1985), Gerak in Stargate SG-1, he was also in The Invaders (1968), Matthew Star (1982), Captain Planet and the Planeteers (1991), Half-Life 2 (2004), Extant (2014), Watchmen (2019), among many others.

He was 87.

It's possible that Meta/Threads will interoperate with the Fediverse to expand people's access to each other in purely cooperative ways, for everyone's benefit.

But history tells us that it's vastly, vastly, vastly more likely that the Meta will, borg-like, follow Big Tech's normal pattern of "embrace, extend, extinguish" -- because there's no history of giant platforms doing anything else.

So we all need to prepare, right now, for what we do about it -- and not wait until it happens.

I'm tired of hearing about AI, to be honest. I never cared for it. I don't respect people who use generative AI, and I despise companies that sell out people's data to train it. Yes, people will lose jobs to it, but the world will not be better for it. It's just that consequences are rarely immediately apparent in such complex systems.

@jostein spurte meg kva mitt mest boomerske trait var her om dagen.

Eg svarte at eg ikkje heilt klarar å ta folk som drikker databrus i staden for kaffi på alvor.

Det er irrasjonelt, og eg prøver å bli eit betre menneske, men det er no ein gong slik det er.

Egentlig prøver jeg bare å innse at jeg blir 60 i år... og fortsatt foretrekker å gå i T-skjorte og hettegenser.

Sann historie: Jeg ble introdusert til begrepet orgelbrus som ca 10 år gammel, da en mann ved navn Karl, som manglet venstre hand fra håndleddet og ut, skulle stemme farfars gamle trampeorgel.

Han hadde flaske med noe blankt stående ved siden av seg, som han stadig tok en svelg fra.

Jeg spurte hva det var, og svaret var ...
