I have paid subscriptions to a few Substack folks. When they release things, they show up in my inbox but are too poorly formatted to pleasantly read directly, so Iβve been in the habit of selecting the link to read in a browser, which worked well.
Now, however, they are arriving with only the open in app link. Fuck you, Substack, Iβm not installing your app. Youβre already getting a cut of my payment and you have my credit card info. Youβre going to have to work harder than that to collect more data on me.
I will suffer through reading in landscape mode, and if I come to find it too irritating I will reluctantly drop the subs.
Donβt be fooled by the name: @TexasObserver brings a whole lot more than Texas to the Fediverse. Their local news stories are very important, but their reach really boosts their boosts. Hah! That was silly! All the value gone from this tootβ¦sorry.
