Squirrel! What else shall I say, it's a squirrel, it's incredibly cute and I'm so happy that I got two perfectly sharp shots of it climbing on a tree.

Just to include a little bit of variance between all those mushrooms that are surely still to come, here's a tiny amphibian that I found in a muddy pond. It was pretty fearless and I was able to get this neat portrait of the frog.

Went on a nice evening photo tour with a colleague and after searching for interesting mushrooms for a while with little success, we found the jackpot. This enormous beauty was in pristine condition - and everyone who loves mushrooms knows that these are usually half eaten, filled with maggots or otherwise badly damaged. Not this one! It brought back so many memories and it was hard not to take it with me for a nice soup, but we didn't want to damage it and left it there.

Small collection of a hornet that I was able to photograph during a successful hunt. It was as amazing as it was terrifying, the brutal precision with which it decapitated the bee and ripped it to pieces. Everything took less than 2 mins and the hornet flew away to its hive.

So this is definitely not a bumblebee! I would say that's enough variety. 😄
These cute little bees are currently plentiful in our garden and especially in the morning you can photograph them while they wake up. 🙂

Should I share fewer bumblebees on coneflowers? No, never! So here we go again, please be prepared for more photos of these fluffballs on beautiful purple flowers. 🙂
I'll try to mix it up with other photos if I manage to get any worthy of posting.

Rain and bumblebees are obviously not friends. When it poured heavily in the morning, I was able to find some bumblebees that were either hiding from the rain or just held out, but got soaking wet. 😄

This bumblebee seemed to have problems with its proboscis, at least it fiddled with it really hard and for a long time with its little legs.
Eventually it started again, but its proboscis stayed extended.
