@CodieneC It truly saddens me to see #canada fall victim to the wave of extreme right propaganda impacting democracies around the world. Especially sad to see Canadians (based on polls) willing to vote against their own interests. Comprehensive healthcare, childcare, gender equality and reconciliation have been proven to positively impact living conditions for everyone, yet here we are 💔 🇨🇦
"The truck is described as a 2007-2009 GMC Sierra, dark blue in colour, with an Alberta licence plate that starts with letters ZTE.
The driver is described as a caucasian man, between 50 and 60 years-old, with a medium to heavy build and clean shaven."
"Just 14 years old at the time, she was lying in an emergency ward with two shattered teeth — courtesy, she said, of a man who "made sexual advances which I did not want" — when an RCMP officer arrived to question her.
He was impatient and dismissive, she said.
"I was trying to explain what had happened and the officer was very aggressive," she said. "He would keep interrupting me to tell me that he couldn't..." #RCMP#WomensReality https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/rcmp-apology-jennifer-johner-sexual-assault-allegation-1.7134196

Value Village is an American corporation that makes tons of cash of Canadian donations. Donations that people make thinking they are helping out Canadian charities. VV pays charities pennies, pays their staff little & takes their profits out of Canada.
@erin You're right, it's a revolving door for clothing.
I'm lucky that we have a free shop in our town where people can pick up or leave their own stuff that they no longer need - no cost.
I've taken to using a bunch of the material (clothing that likely won't be used, curtains, etc) for quilts or cutting the items up & bagging the material for others to use in sewing or crafts.
The person that worked at our local dump got tired of seeing so many usable items being thrown into the dump that could have been used by others. She was lucky enough to have an old out-building that she turned into a free shop for people to give those items another life. Now if you have stuff you no longer want/use you can take it there. If you see something there you can use or repurpose, you take it, for free. #ReduceReuseRecyle https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/first-person-saturdays-at-the-dump-1.7075154
