In my new fantasy book, I'm going to forego describing my MC. The reader will get a picture of his age and status within society, and an impression of his clothing, nothing else. This will allow the reader to picture him more or less however they want. Support characters will be thoroughly described.

So the question is: how much would readers find an undescribed MC off-putting? Not that the answers will change my plans, I'm just curious.

I figure I'll never become a good artist at this point, and it's for a simple reason: I don't enjoy the process.

When I'm writing, I enjoy it all: 1st draft, re-writing, editing, polishing, adding stuff - until that point it goes on a bit too long, and I now I'm done, I like it all.

With art, I just want the image in my head to spring out and exist (NO, not AI style). Sketching is frustrating. Inking is more frustrating. Coloring is beyond frustrating. I don't enjoy any stage of it 😅

I want a new, excellent space opera series, movie or game preferably.

It's time. I like Star Wars and all, but it's mostly feeling a little played out, with the same plots and even dialogue on repeat.

So yeah, another big, fresh space opera with great lore would really hit the spot.

And don't you dare say "Rebel Moon".

What's that thing you're not good at writing? I do good, basic descriptions of places, but it's hard for me to spend much time really digging into the feel of a location. My characters, alternatively, are really well rounded.
