My #WeeklyBeats this week turned out almost ten minutes long. And it makes a pretty good loop as well. And I think it actually turned out quite good. :)
I found most of my #WeeklyBeats tracks pretty okay, but this week's submission I really like. And it's not even finished yet. Can't wait for folks to listen to it.
me, trying to navigate the #WeeklyBeats website, but it's loading forever and is completely unusable: "oh right, I've just posted a link to it and now hundreds of Mastodon servers are DDoSing it … 🙄"
"Weeklybeats is a 52 week long music project in which artists compose and publicly release 1 song a week for the entire year. Starting January 1st 2024 GMT each participant will have one week to upload one finished composition. Any style of music or selection of instruments are welcomed and encouraged."
Definitely getting more confident with the #M8Tracker. I love some of the possibilities it brings to the table, especially when it comes to complex sequencing, but on the other hand I find it so tedious to enter notes, even when using MIDI. Let's see whether I find a good way to combine it with the #Deluge and get the best of both worlds.
Liquid is one of my favorite genres, and it was fun to produce this one, walking around with the #SynthstromDeluge playing in my bag, walking in tempo. :)

With a bit more time, this would've been a better (and longer) track, but this is the time I had, and it's the track I got.
Doing #WeeklyBeats for a quarter of a year now. What started as a way to force myself to actually do something with the music gear I have on a regular basis, to try to learn it and get into it has achieved just that: I'm learning by doing, getting faster and more experienced.
This week I made my first track longer than 5 minutes. Is it #synthwave? Not sure. At least it starts like it. 🤷♂️
Okay yeah, as expected, the mastering on #WeeklyBeats#15 is a mess. There was some clipping in the exported song, but I had run out of time to fix it.
I'm nevertheless quite satisfied with the track, even though it's darker than what I usually create or enjoy.
If you listen to it, I highly recommend real speakers or headphones, no tinny laptop or smartphone speakers, because the mix only sounds worse on them.
My submission for week 21 of #WeeklyBeats is a goofy euphoric #synthpop track for a sunny day, with lots of arpeggios (hence the name), filter sweeps and a medium amount of chaos.
