I have to say never have I used such a janky, crashy app like Final Cut Pro in recent times… except for DaVinci Resolve and I’m told Premiere is even worse. sigh
One take-away from creating this #video (and a conference talk before) is that FCP’s multi-cam (while nice to sync video and audio) takes the jank to 11. At least I hadn’t dozens of dead frames this time.
I’ve also had super weird interactions between iZotope RX and FCP and macOS’s audio system that seems to hang completely. And finally somehow RX is pretty much broken with AIFF but works with WAV. #wat

At the moment I am actively working with WebAssembly and virtual machines for its execution. Specifically, I have to work with text representation - WAT.
This is a very interesting experience of working with a stack machine using S-expressions.
I also have a feeling that WASM using WASI can be a good alternative to JVM and other similar virtual machines.

If that wasn't in jest, it's an electronic component - a chip in a DIP-16 package - that I had to cut the pins off of to remove it from a board, and then manually soldered replacement pins onto so I could test it out-of-circuit.
I've placed half a dozen orders in the last month and a bit, and it seems that every single one hasn't even #shipped for 2 or 3 days after I place the order. Everything I've ordered was in #stock (and not marginally; "27,563 in stock" type of thing).
Etsy is fantastic. Except for the part where they're #incompetent, user-hostile, and provide absolutely zero #support for sellers (and not much more for buyers).
They just told a #customer of mine to expect their purchase in 5 business days.

Object of my #ire this week? #Furnaces. I'm not even going to rant about their main control boards; most of that's been said better than I could say it, by others with more knowledge than I.
So what it actually is is two parts - the first is a very simple 3-phase AC motor. Which seemed bizarre when I figured it out, because #residential#electrical#service isn't 3-phase; only #industrial/#commercial customers need that. 3-phase motors are very common in industry.
The other part is, of course, the embedded electronics for the motor.

For ROTW, In Firefox, you can disable webp image support. I think that will cause it to ignore content served with image/webp MIME type, and maybe remove it from the Accept: request header as well. I haven't confirmed this, but if true, it would prevent the exploit from working.
Go to about:config and look for this webp enabled option, and set it to false as shown.

We received our new #Green#Bin this week, for the City of #Regina's new #municipal#composting program. Hey, only 20 years behind the small town my parents lived in back then, not too bad.
Also with the bin, you get a plastic bucket with a tight-fitting lid and a handle, to use in your house for #kitchen#waste, so you can "save up" scraps and not have to run out to the bin after every meal prep etc.
But leaving #food scraps and #waste in a #bucket under the sink for days is a bit of a #mess, so the #city helpfully tells you to use a non-plastic, compostable liner in the bucket.
Good idea. They even included 5 free liners with the bin & bucket when we got it.
The liners are the shape of large lunch bags - tall and rectangular.
The bucket is horseshoe-shaped, and much wider than it is tall.
As far as I can tell, no one makes liners this shape.
