VE3RWJ,

I'm in Canada. I have been asked to #BetaTest and review a #radio coming from the #US, and return it in a month.

I’m a private individual, not a business. Is there something I can tell the US company to put on the #CBSA declaration form that specifies the item is a sample, for #review purposes, so #Canada #Customs don’t think it is something I purchased?

cazabon,

@VE3RWJ

"Temporary importation", tariff item # 9993.00.00, explained in memo D8-1-1. Under Guidelines, 2 it describes how some portion of the regulations that no longer exist will be applied as if they still exist for certain goods.

I Shit You Not. Straight outa "Brazil" (1985).

Under subsection c, you want 9823.70, "Commercial samples".

As to how to mark this on the package / declaration, I'm afraid you'll have to ask CBSA. Sorry.

VE3RWJ,

@cazabon haha thanks. I just downloaded a 26-page PDF from CanadaPost that I'm going to look through...
