Boy it seems like the concept of “put all the trust in the #vpn and don’t secure internal resources after that” is really detonating in everyone’s faces.
The #PiVPN project has ended. For those who don't know, this project was a suite of scripts that make it easy to set up your own #VPN server.
The good news is that it's basically just a collection of scripts that draws from your system's package manager. If you're currently hosting a VPN that you used PiVPN to set up, I see no reason why you can't just keep using it like normal.
Mozilla VPN trick for anyone in the New England region of the US - There's a NYC server and a Secaucus server.
NYC and Secaucus are practically right next to each other, only 10 miles in between. But, Secaucus is used a lot less. To the point where Mozilla VPN is 2x as fast if you use the Secaucus server.

⌛the vpn doesn't have any ad-blocking or other filtering features enabled
🙃async or defer could be applied to fontawesome and some tracking scripts
🪳dev tools does show it is likely related to many/all of the various externally hosted tracking scripts not being able to phone home how they'd prefer, so probably not a cache/bigpipe issue

Das ist vorsätzliches Umgehen von Sicherheitsmaßnahmen und eine illegale Überwachung/Spionage. Wer Meta/Facebook noch in irgendeiner Weise vertraut, der sollte sich gut überlegen, was Vertrauen für ihn bedeutet.
At this point, it is clear that a #VPN provider must accept payment in cash in order to provide a real #privacy tool. Cash is much easier to handle privately than crypto for most of the world, and a lot more people around the world have access to currency exchange and snail mail than places to safely buy crypto. Kudos to @mullvadnet and @protonvpn for providing that service.
Sorry #VPN wie es momentan beworben wird war noch nie Sicher und ein klarer #MITM und nur bei den wenigsten Anbietern auch vertrauenswürdig - Da sind ganz dubiose & gruselige Firmengeflechte im Hintergrund. Dann kommen ein paar #Dumps und bestätigen deine Befürchtungen. VPN macht durch aus Sinn in einem #Business#Netzwerk aber eben nicht so.

Thank you @dumbpasswordrules for your clarification and how NordVPN is not a secure tool. How many times do I have to mention that this is not security. To consume something country restricted is again (a little) different but also no privacy preserved.
