Spinning my second favorite #PinkFloyd album. It’s a modern pressing but it sounds amazing (on my system at least). It’s on my list of top three original pressings to chase down (all three of which are Floyd albums incidentally).

Up now, Joni Mitchell's For The Rose from 1972, a Los Angeles CLA pressing. Such a beautiful recording. I could just hang here for decades; guess I have been, essentially. A keeper!
A sonic masterpiece.
I rip through the DEFTONES discography start to finish once every couple of years, and I always get excited when I get to White Pony.
I think this was when they separated themselves from all of the shitty bands they were being lumped in with, and showed the world that they weren’t just tenants of that horrible invented genre.

𝘎𝘦𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 with Dire Straits' 'Brothers In Arms'. 🫂🎸💿 (13 May 1985)

The best-selling Dire Straits album from their discography, alas perhaps not my favourite — maybe second favourite on most days, or on certain days even third favourite. Morever, I never liked the cover artwork, even though it is widely recognisable nowadays. Nonetheless, the music on this record is terrific though, thus it has its artistic merits; from the timeless "Money For Nothing" with that recognisable guitar riff, to the emotive title track. Mark Knopfler's guitar tone and playing alone are stellar (as always), but the rest of the band are also great and tight. Honestly, I, however, have some bias towards this album as I heard several of its tracks on a CD compilation on repeat during road trips with my parents when I was kid. Therefore tracks such as "Walk Of Life" and "Money For Nothing" were ingrained in my brain. I could argue it holds a special place in my heart as it is a link to my childhood. Lastly, some sources claim 'Brothers In Arms' was release on 13 May 1985, others on 17 May 1985, but I decided to post about it on this day.
