There were so many things to think about, but they had to be curated.
Otherwise, she would use this precious time of silence to focus on things that didn't matter, items of "news" or current events to mentally grumble over, as opposed to deeply focusing and thinking upon those introspections within her heart, ones that were calling out to be heard.
Always remember, we are all entitled to our own opinions and we all get to choose what we use as far as software, hardware or anything else in this world. Just because YOU don't like something doesn't mean everyone else should not like it as well.
If you continually try and shove your opinion down my throat and try to force me to change what I use, I will simply block you and move on.
It's not appropriate, nor is it wanted or needed. It's actually quite DISRESPECTFUL!
Thoughts, feelings, perceptions are just that: thoughts, feelings and perceptions. They arise, stay for a while and cease. They're not you, not yours, not self.
What if Mastodon had a way to save the ALT text you entered each time you used a new image. So if you used the same image later, it would some how know what you used the last time and give you the option to automatically use that instead of having to type something each and every time.
Seems to me there would be some way to be able to do this easily and to save all of us time from having to type the same thing for ALT text on a regular basis.
Struggling to find motivation to have both a pixelfed and Mastodon user. Feel like I can follow anyone either way with one account :cat_sip: #random#thoughts#fediverse
What is the optimum amount of humans on this planet?
Have we (as the intelligent ones) worked out a way to achieve an equilibrium of how many humans to how many other species there are, with a view to us all surviving?
Doesn't the effect we have on other species affect how many humans there are?
Perseverance is admirable. Yet, it's also brave to say "I can't do this anymore" and make a plan to walk away from situations and people that are toxic and unhealthy.
"In my opinion, they are the finest men I have ever beheld [...] To see a white man bathing alongside a Tahitian, was like comparing a plant bleached by the gardener’s art to the same growing in the open fields."
He was “much disappointed in the personal appearance of the women; they are far inferior in every respect to the men.”
However "either they are not as handsome as they were said to be, or my ideas are fastidious".
The quiet, pervasive devaluation of frontend - Josh Collinsworth
Here is a long article that's well worth your time, on the perception of the craft of front end development. Lots of quote-worthy thoughts in there.
(…) If our skills are valuable as duct tape over the cracks of organizational shortcomings, why aren’t they valuable during the planning and decision-making that led to those defects, when we could potentially prevent them?
(…)
Frontend tools market themselves as though frontend is something no one wants to do, and nobody should care about any more than they have to.
(…)
It seems like nobody thinks of frontend as a critical part of the product anymore; they only think of it as the nice box the product arrives in.
