What the hell is #Zoom doing? I've tried to turn off all optimizations, turn off everything else running, but any video call I get on just turns my Intel MacBook into a space heater. Anyone else seeing this? #techsupport#NotSoZoomy

It is opt-in, so it will take some time to be filled with people content as they enable their profile to be indexed, but this was one of the most wanted Mastodon features for some time.

Can anybody explain why Google Messages for the web renders photos with blotches and overexposure issues (below) when the same photo saved to my laptop (above) looks fine? Never seen anything like this. Happened 5 times, all from my wife's iPhone. Fine in the phone app. Photos from others are fine. When I see stuff like this I always suspect color management issues, but this is weird and variable across the frame, I don't know what to think. JPG decoding error?
Finally had time to debug the Dolby HDR error message from my AVR. Fixed with a firmware update. Added bonus: I found the TV's picture settings so I can opt for cinema/filmmaker settings during movies. Double added bonus: the new Chromecast has a YouTube Music app. Game changer for me. #TechSupport#HDR#victory
Today's free tech support session at the South Burlington Library was busy. People love free #TechSupport. (1) patron needed to transfer data from old to new laptop, (2) patron wanted help getting started with an iPhone, (3) patron wanted to learn about organizing photos and music on mac/iPhone, (4) patron wanted info about online donation systems, (5) patron was locked out of Yahoo and Google email, (6) patron needed to transfer data from Android phone to PC. #Vermont#Libraries
It’s constantly becoming unmapped (sometimes randomly in the middle of the day). File explorer pages close out by themselves somewhat frequently too. Just curious what might be going on in IT (they’re the ones who showed me how to re-map).
First #Monday morning #email. An angry customer who couldn't access their email on their mobile all weekend, while everything worked fine on their computer. I checked the logs and noticed they were entering the wrong login credentials (a typo in the username). I pointed it out, and they admitted to having changed their phone recently, probably mistyping the data on the new one. A double check before sending a fiery email would have been wiser 😉

APT is completely broken and I don't know why. Whenever I try to install, remove, or upgrade, I get this error. My OS is Kubuntu 23.04. Any help would be appreciated!

The only possible culprits left, as far as I can tell, are motherboard, CPU, or power supply stability (like, something is happening when components try to wake up from low power states) Or maybe one of the M.2 drives. Seems highly unlikely? I've booted UBCD from USB many times without deadlocking, but I don't think that means much given the simplicity of UBCD
