Die Ukraine hat das alte Sowjetsymbol an der Mutter-Heimat-Statue in Kiew entfernt und durch den Dreizack ersetzt. Die Statue „Mutter Heimat“ wurde 1981 von den Sowjets eingeweiht und ist mit 62 Metern die höchste Statue Europas und überragt die New Yorker Freiheitsstatue um knapp 16 Meter. Der genaue historische Ursprung des ukrainischen Dreizack-Symbols ist unklar, aber gilt als einem herabstürzenden Falken nachempfunden.

Even though the statue has fallen, someone has set up a shrine with the head and built barricades.
Those barricades have not held... what has become of the occupant and what is the future of this location?

While the barricade is peppered with the scars of battle, one of the things that penetrated it is an arrow of sorts.
Also, the ground around the fallen torso is pushed up from the weight of impact. Not to mention the shattered flagstones, but intact flag still held...
