This week's game is Heavy Nova, an infamous robot fighting game full of bizarre design choices, slow gameplay, and enough invincibility frames to make a person want to give up. Is there fun to be found in it, though? I think so!
Dark Wizard is 30 years now. Created by Kenji Terada (of Final Fantasy fame). I celebrate it by re-starting the game again, new footage recorded from real hardware. Though graphics are mediocre, the depth of gameplay and story still warrant playing it. Lots of progress with actually getting up and doing something tonight
namely getting my old model 1 sega cd actually out and testing to see why it might be dead. it has a blown fuse! I'll be ordering a replacement and mod it so it's easy to replace
once I get that done, I'll get a proper power supply and start testing the add-on in earnest
The original #SegaCD version of #Lunar The Silver Star remains far and away my favorite version. I dislike the story changes the made to Silver Star Remake, and prefer the battle system of the original. Most importantly, I think the original Sega CD opening video completely, utteraly blows away the #PSX and #SegaSaturn opening videos.

Lunar: TSS was the 3rd proper JPRG I ever played. My first was Phantasy Star on the SMS, and Shining Force on the Sega Genesis after. I'd also played Ultima prior. Lunar: The Silver Star remains to me the single biggest jump in RPGs I've ever seen. Coming from Shining Force, Lunar was an enormous step up in scope and presentation. One of my all time favorite games ever. The modern perception of the #SegaCD is nothing like what owning one at the time was like.

Well that was frustrating after discovering that the #SegaCD version of #DraculaUnleashed was on 2 cds and not being able to switch between the two I searched for the #DOS version and after tons of struggling finally got it to work.
