One of the core fundamental failures of consensus is the lack of definitive signal in the source list.

Instances get added to an instance's list because:

  • They are CSAM
  • They had a bad interaction with the moderator
  • Because there was a moderation disagreement
  • Because they are shutting down
  • Because they have a different policy toward CW or adult content
  • Because someone else blocked them who a moderator trusted
  • Because someone else blocked them and everyone's busy

@hrefna @timbray before the recent bugs were removed where it counted one instance to be put on TBP, mine made the list because of that

I'm not sure how many communities we lost access to because of it due to admins just importing it without vetting any of it

While things were sorted out with that bug, people who did csv imports before that possibly have no clue and it'll stay there until manually removed.

Lots of progress with actually getting up and doing something tonight

namely getting my old model 1 sega cd actually out and testing to see why it might be dead. it has a blown fuse! I'll be ordering a replacement and mod it so it's easy to replace

once I get that done, I'll get a proper power supply and start testing the add-on in earnest
