Everything is looking much brighter on our walk yesterday at Contin. The gorse is in flower, grass is growing, the larch is green again, the birds were out making a racket. Lovely!
Ross-shire Journal: “To tie in with their 25th anniversary celebrations this year at Bught Park later in the summer, a few members of Skipinnish will be playing some classic tunes from 1:30pm on Saturday, May 11 in the heart of the Eastgate Shopping Centre.”
Bit damp up there after rain, not unexpected, but I struggled to find a crossing point of the Allt Airdeasaidh that I was comfortable with. Ended up going further along than I planned but got across eventually. On the descent kept to the west side of the river which worked out okay.
Didn't meet anyone on the hill for first time ever.
Tho did meet Dundonnell MRT above the road who'd had a play in the river.
I don't think Skye was impressed with the 'skeleton bike' in Contin woods today.
Turned out quite a nice walk. We made up a 10km loop using a couple of sections of multi-use singletrack which were a bit muddy in places. And quite a lot of forest track. Only a wee bit of rain around.
Under the title of 'probably not interesting' just a bit of mossy old dry stone wall in the woods above Contin. There's quite a few bits of old wall in the forest and I always wonder about the history of them.
I think I got some things done yesterday but it feels like I only moved some of the problems elsewhere. Now I'm sorting out different things, but before I can do that, I need to fix those two scripts to use the big drive tmp directory, then... Argh.
Anyway. Here's a snap of Skye from the other day. Skye likes walks in the woods. So do I. But today is not that day. It's dreich and uninviting.
