Moody Blues cofounder Mike Pinder has died at age 82. Born in Birmingham, U.K., he was part of the city's vibrant music scene and formed the "Moodies" in 1964 with Graeme Edge, Ray Thomas, Clint Warwick, and Denny Laine. In 1967, the group recorded "Days of Future Passed," which is now considered to be the first prog rock album. Here's more from Variety.
Exactly one year ago today came the sad news that legendary activist, humanitarian, statesman and entertainer Harry Belafonte passed away. Mr. B was one of a kind. We will never see the likes of him again. His activist spirit and legacy lives on across the world, and right now. #HarryBelafonte#RIP
Nicht wahr, oder? 😭
This is a great tribute to a friend, the pub just put a plaque on the bench in the garden for him.
He will be missed.
I'll miss him from asking me for how to decode geocaching, which some were #retroComputing related, which was nice that the geocaching community thought of that.
Every time I’d stay on the House floor to give a one minute speech, Donald Payne was there in the first chair. He gave a one minute every day they were scheduled. What a loss of a great member of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Very sad news: NJ Rep. Donald M. Payne, Jr. has died at 65. #RIP
Dickey Betts, cofounder of the Allman Brothers Band, died last week. In this essay for Paste, Matt Mitchell remembers his work on "Eat a Peach" and "Brothers and Sisters." "I contend that, between February 1972 and August 1973, there was no greater rocker walking among us than Dickey Betts," Mitchell writes. "Most musicians would kill to write 'Blue Sky,' 'Jessica' and 'Ramblin’ Man' over the course of a long career; Betts did it in just 16 months’ time, a creative peak few musicians of his caliber, genre and longevity have ever paralleled."
Grammy-winning producer, Michael Cuscuna, the co-founder of Mosaic Records, has died at age 75. A historian and archivist, he produced hundreds of jazz reissues and studio sessions and won his Grammys for producing box sets of Nat King Cole, Miles Davis and Billie Holiday. Here's more from the Hollywood Reporter.
