Yes, the bike lane drops on #BarburBlvd over Multnomah but it's also completely worn off by car traffic on the curve at the end of the offramp as drivers come around that at 70mph on their way to lake oswego... Take the Barbur bike lane past the Pancake House, Spring Garden off the top of the hill, recross i5 on 19th (giant amorphous / three car lanes, no bike lane 😡 for half a block) to old Multnomah & pop out back in the Barbur bike lane across from fred meyer.
Driver still traumatized by newly added "bike" infrastructure (it's a sidewalk, is riding an electric bike here even legal???) SW 26th, your safety dollars at "work" #pdxBikes

"As currently written, HB 4103:
...would restrict some of the most affordable #eBike styles to [16yo and up]
...[allows localities to] ban the use of certain e-bikes from accessing multi-use paths and trails
...Enforcement based on e-bike class will be highly subjective and confusing for users
...Misses the mark on providing a clear definition... [cargo / 4 wheels, bigger motors]"
Portland's NEW multi-member, ranked-choice districts give us a huge opportunity to put people over profits in running the city. Pick a candidate and get involved!
I was legitimately almost killed just now by a car that sped up to pass me on the left as I was making a left turn on a greenway right in front of my house. They saw me signal and sped up so quickly that I didn’t even notice it and they almost hit me with a left hook, I think they had sped up to about 40mph based on the speed differential. This is why Portland’s neighborhood greenways don’t feel safe without traffic diverters. I’m shaking right now. #pdxbikes#pdx#BikeTooter#cycling
#pdxBikes check out this map of pdxreporter data by @robgalanakis (who may be joining the zoom tomorrow?) Has that gravel in your bike lane been reported?
'New to #Portland' bike ride Friday 12-1:30p under the east end of Tilikum Crossing, mellow 8 mile loop along the river led by city #transportation bureau staff. #pdxBikes#bikeTooter
Join @bikeloudpdx for Hack Night next Thursday Feb 8th at 7pm #pdxBikes#OpenStreetMap#opendata a look at the street sweeper map, and can we predict when storm drains will clog next.
Of course PBOT is going to immediately launch operation "think about it for a while" after driverists cut down their signs they stuck in the street for telling cars what to do, not like they always send crews out ASAP removing any guerrilla devices that potentially obstruct cars (oh wait...) Department of Letting Cars Boss Us Around here needs a better acronym. #Vision60or70something#PBOT#Portland#transportation#LowTrafficNeighborhoods#CarSupremacy#pdxBikes
According to PBOT's press release, the #pdxBikes detour through these broadway bike lane work zones will be a world-class #WorkzoneFTW instead of their usual "bikes merge with autos" or whatever sort of "share the road" sign fully blocking the bikeway. ICYMI, this was the pivot after the scandal where they were going to completely revert the protected bike lane with no public process, to placate hoteliers and get mingus a mayoral endorsement, happy donors etc.
Well, it took less than 20 miles of biking after the ice storm to get a flat because of the sharp gravel (basically tiny daggers) that was dispersed in an effort to make driving more possible during the ice storm. The streets are largely clear of it now but it’s hazardously piled in the painted cycling gutters and separated lanes.
What basis exactly, are they using to prioritize the sweeping, or is this section waiting on the protected sweeper because only a small part of it is protected? Are there other parts of town with essential #pdxBikes connections still left like this?
