According to GPS my #OCTranspo bus has been five minutes away for the past 15 minutes. The highschool kids at the stop have all given up and are walking.

First trip this semester, as good as ever.

Have to wonder do they all get detentions, or do #Ottawa teachers just accept that they have to sacrifice a random slice of their first hour to #OCTranspo?

When I was a kid it was reasonable to expect students to leave early enough to get to school on time. Nowadays that's not equitable. When my niece takes the bus to work she plans to get there an hour early in order not to be late. That's an hour of unpaid time lost to #OCTranspo.

We wouldn't tolerate +/- 60 minutes to get across town for drivers.

So I've read that and Rideau Transit are going to try literally greasing the wheels of the LRT.

Instead of all the symbolic wheel greasing corruption that took place in the P3 procurement that brought us this disaster.

On a more serious note. It's right there in the OC transpo Memo.
Change on the design in the bearing hub, as root cause.
And "safe" resumption of service by July 31st
So two weeks without service, no consequences, zero accountability.

Well, the answer is more mundane.
Bearings (again!) and potentially so bad, that they decided to do this.
This means manually inspecting all wheels on all trains, and replacing what is needed.
This will be a multi-day shutdown.

@johnefrancis I am just wondering how Europe, Japan,China can make a train service that can go up to 460 km/h and has a service every 15 minutes.
And we cant figure out a line that is 12 km long and goes 35 to 85 kmh.

How is it that “other agencies” have unilateral control over our transit system?! Hopefully next year OCTranso will come to their senses and tell them no.

The system is there to be used as is. lines will form, sure, but free transit and closed Booth means no problems using the street as an overflow area.

One of the things that bugs me about is the lack of pride and ownership.

The paint on the station (PRL) is peeling because of humidity.

It's not clean, and an occasional broom is an afterthought.

But today I noticed, they didn't even bother to remove the tape from the ceiling panels.

And it has been almost 4 years.

Absolutely to sense or pride nor ownership on this.
As commented before the "temporary" scaffolding and plastic tarps are removed, hedious, but they provided some shade in summer and some protection against the wind and snow in winter.
Really looking forward to winter when snow and ice clearing is not included out of the train station.
(Another efficiency found by our Mayor Sutcliffe)

Look how beautiful those green trees are to provide shade and oxigen.
