It makes me chuckle a little that one of the biggest NFT stores on the Cardano blockchain is just called 'JPG Store'.
So many people are like "NFTs are shit. Do you not realise you're just buying an image?" and the name 'JPG Store' is just screaming "Come and buy some expensive JPGs"
Also, there is some really bad, but also some really cool artwork in the NFT world and I think its cool that artists can make art and get paid for it.
On JPG Store, the Clay Nation collection looks really cool - but the floor price is ₳1449 and no way would I pay the equivalent of $350 (USD) for a contract of ownership of a JPG.
If you are the tiniest bit cryptocurrency-curious, you need to read Zeke Faux's book Number Go Up. Finished it on Sunday. Super-fast read. Totally bonkers stories throughout. The chapter on pig butchering was new to me and yet another damning indictment of the state of the griftswamp.
@Some_Emo_Chick if only they made NFTs for something useful like concert tickets and concerts and could take on Ticketek.
Edit: Can you imagine being able to independently verify that the concert exists, there is a valid ticket and the real person you're buying from actually has it? That's absolutely revolutionary. Not to mention weed out scalpers.
Or a way to compensate artists and actors for agreeing to the usage of their content and or likeness in training AI models.

Whilst I can at least understand someone using #Solana if they do care about #NFTs I'm not telling artists how to monetize their work - almost all I know don't do [#NFT|s out of principle but I do know some that did but that's not point!] there is no valid reason to use #Bitcoin :bitcoin: !
