Ayo guys new nightly release just got out with the option to see poll results without voting and all the goodness @megalodon cooked up while I was asleep
One feature that I would like to have in #Mastodon apps is to group the same post below multiple hashtags in my home timeline.
Currently, if I am subscribed to a few hashtags that overlap and someone uses them all in there post, I see the post multiple times in my home timeline under different hashtags.
It should be grouped or only showed on e if I post included multiple hashtags that I follow.
Hmm. I created another account on mastodon.social, mostly to check out an app (#moshidon), but also to check a few things about that instance
Notes:
The atmospheres of dice.camp and mastodon.social are very different. It feels much more like Twitter used to
I know mastodon.social is muted on dice.camp, but I thought I could read toots of contacts between both like normal. Turns out I needed to boost my own toot for it to show up. But the same happened with pixelfed.de
🎉 Celebrating one year since my first contribution to @moshidon! Over the past 12 months, I've added dozens of features and improvements, in 66 pull requests and 291 commits (porting some of them over to @megalodon in "only" 39 pull requests). In total, I added ~17k lines of code. Looking forward to another year.
Official app v2.2.4: This app came from far. Almost perfect for me, but can't edit the toolbars (like adding lists), I can't increase the text size of posts (it's a bit to small for my eyes - yes, rest of Android is fine) and I can't schedule posts.
#Moshidon v2.1.4 (102): This was the perfect app, but since this version it crashes just to much. Older versions work, but the official app has more features. Let's hope it will make a come-back.
#Megalodon v2.1.6 (107): This was my number two, but Moshidon has more features. But the most important reason it was number two is the ugly (IMO) pink launch icon. I know, I can change it using icon sets, but to much work. Plus it also crashes, just like Moshidon. Megalodon is a fork of the official app and Moshidon is fork of Megalodon AFAIK.
#Tusky v24: It still looks outdated; no Material You support or other modern themes (only dark/light) and the icons look outdated. To much blue. The notifications don't have a separate tab for mentions (only a filter, you much change every time, and that's not user friendly). That said, the new Tusky 24 is great. I must admit.
I also tried many other apps, but they all had to much flaws
I now use the Official app and Tusky for post scheduling.
Have you ever coded on a phone? I sometimes do some coding on my phone whenever I find a small bug within #Moshidon. I use a GitHub actions workflow to compile it for me. Someone has got to be crazy to code on a phone, and maybe I am
Btw. Some emoji are not being displayed for me in #moshidon. Any idea why that is? Seems to apply to some regular ones, but not instance-specific ones. (those only take some time to load, it seems)
Curioso esto que me sale en #moshidon antes de mandar una respuesta supuestamente a un contacto con el que aún no he compartido nada, no sé si es cosa de la instancia, de la propia app o de #mastodon una nueva característica?
#Moshidon community: We are currently experimenting in @moshidon nightly with removing duplicate settings that can already be controlled from the system preferences. Specifically this time the haptic feedback/vibration setting.
Does your phone have an option to disable it in the system settings (called Touch feedback, usually found under Accessibility > Vibrations & Haptics)?
If not, please reply with your Android version and phone brand so we can take this into account, thanks!
Any implicit standard on how to contribute #AltText on someone else's media, that apps like #Moshidon load up from replies? Any of the apps that are about to implement similar thing?
I think we should slightly rethink how login works on most Fediverse apps (Mastodon, Lemmy, but not only)
A while ago I posted a thread back on the...
