Le Forum mondial de l'eau #commence aujourd'hui et se tient jusqu'au 25 mai à #bali À cette occasion, nous partons au Panama, et plus précisément au bord de son canal. Cet axe majeur du commerce maritime mondial subit depuis l’année dernière une baisse de ses ressources en eau à cause de la sécheresse qui frappe le pays.
PH tells China to leave Panatag Shoal, also known as Scarborough Shoal, which is a high-tide elevation located just over 120 nautical miles off the coast of Zambales. According to international law, the shoal is within the PH's exclusive economic zone (220 nautical miles).

With eyes on how to get the bridge debris out of the #Baltimore harbor, thought I'd share this extremely large floating crane which was built & used by the Germans in WWII, then seized after the war and transported to Long Beach. It lived there until the naval yard closed in the 1990s and then moved onward to the Panama Canal
Rescue workers in Baltimore, Md., are searching for as many as seven people after a major bridge in the city's port was struck by a container ship early Tuesday morning.
CNN reports: "Two people have been saved from the water so far."
This large #ship has run aground - as well as calling PAN PAN on the radio to alert the Coastguard / Harbourmaster and other vessels, as a visual signal 3 balls are displayed on the front mast (this is to the left of the picture). If the vessel cannot be steered, 2 balls are displayed.
This is why in #Britain when something has gone badly wrong, we often say there has been a "total balls up" 😁

The #Houthi militia claimed responsibility for an attack on a #CommercialVessel off the coast of #Yemen on Wednesday that Western ofcls said #killed 2 people, the first #fatalities from Houthi attacks since the group began targeting ships late last year.
“At least 2 innocent sailors have died,” the British Embassy in #Yemen said in a stmnt. “This was the sad but inevitable consequence of the #Houthis recklessly firing #missiles at #international#shipping. They must stop.”
