If we're talking about participatory fandom, maybe since #XenaWarriorPrincess in the mid 90s?
Alternatively, I was heavily into #LordOfTheRings in the 80s and would've been into the fandom too if I'd been able to find such a thing. Instead I just read everything I could get my hands on, and taught myself to read & write Elvish characters.
I like posting #FanWork#Rec s, especially for #FanVid s and #FanFic. All my recs are available through #AO3 and I'm gradually working to make them available here. I love #FanArt too.
My username is based on a deleted scene from #LordOfTheRings#ReturnOfTheKing which involved #Aragorn and his companions passing through the #CityOfTheDead. At some point the #movie producers thought it would be "cool" to have a massive computer generated avalanche of skulls.
It was not in the books.
It was purely made up for the spectacle of it.
It cost millions of dollars to produce.
It wasn't even used in the movie.
Something about that entire situation resonates with me. 😆
