Our second week of #harvest2023 at #TablasCreek is in the books! The fruit is rolling in at a slow and steady pace, mostly from vineyards from warmer parts of #PasoRobles for our Patelin program. Here on our harvest chalkboard, green chalk is Patelin, and purple chalk is from our estate. The cumulative tonnage so far is 76.62. Not a bad start as we work towards 400+ tons for the year.
For a 👀 👀 👀 comparison, check out the second photo and note where we were in harvest at this date last year!
Yeah bad idea. Didn’t check on the monster for a couple of days … PSA: do no leave your zucchini plants unattended for a couple of days #Gardening#Harvest2023
Harvesting the seedpods of the winged pea (Lotus purpureus)
Next to the typical vegetables that we grow every year we always also try something new to learn and have more variety in our garden and on the plate. Since we live on an old farm, we like to try old forgotten species and varieties like these winged peas.
It has been a great year for berries. Now the aronia (Aronia melanocarpa, also known as Black chokeberry) berries are getting ripe and can be harvested. #garden#gardening#berry#aronia#harvest#harvest2023
This is remarkable... Check out the difference between Grenache this year (left) and what it looked like on the same date a year ago (right). This year is going to be late, late, late. Our latest veraison, start to harvest, and end of harvest in our history are all very much in play.
