At 1'095 seqs in covSPECTRUM, "Multilineage JN.1 Spike with S:R346T and S:F456L" (the FLiRT swarm) has slowed down to a relative weekly growth advantage of 76% over background.
I'm hopeful that this will not be sufficient for a wave, going into summer on the northern hemisphere.
For what it's worth: At an estimated 30% FLiRT (JN.1* (Nextclade) + S:R346T, S:F456L) end of wk 10, the impoverished Singapore Covid monitoring shows reduced ARI levels and reduced SARS2 ARI specimen positivity, when comparing wks 9 and 10.
If the FLiRT subvariants have the capacity to drive Rt over 1, this trend would be expected to turn in the coming weeks.

@kaffeeringe@fasnix Das wird sich wohl erst in den nächsten Jahren bessern. Dann kommen die neuen #Alstom Coradia Stream HC, die zum einen die 16,5 verbliebenen TWINDEXXe als auch die als RB eingesetzten #Stadler#FLIRT ersetzen sollen.
Die haben zwar jeweils weniger Kapazität als die TWINDEXXe, aber das werden mehr, und die sollen dreifachtraktionsfähig sein. Ich hoffe, daß dann die RE nach Kiel auch mal als Doppeltraktion mit dem Zugteil Flensburg als dritte Einheit fahren werden. (2/2)
